Serving the 5th largest city in New Zealand, Waitakere Hospital’s redevelopment has enabled residents to access specialist services without travelling to Auckland. Completed ahead of schedule with a partnering contractor, this two-stage project involved a new 15,000m2 building containing an emergency department, radiology suite and theatres, followed by the refurbishment of an existing facility for ambulatory care, child health and the hospital’s first Intensive Care Baby Unit.
